White Sox place P Loaiza on DL
CHICAGO (TICKER) —The Chicago White sox placed pitcher Esteban Loaiza on the 15-day disabled list Friday with right shoulder inflammation.
The move is retroactive to Thursday.
Loaiza, 36, had no record along with a 3.00 ERA in three appearances for Chicago after signing with the club on June 4. A native of Mexico, Loaiza is 126-114 with a 4.65 ERA in 14 seasons with seven major league clubs.
In a corresponding move, the White Sox recalled righthander Adam Russell from Class AAA Charlotte.
Russell, 25, was 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA in 21 relief appearances with Charlotte this season. The 6-8, 250-pounder was on Chicago’s roster from May 2-5 but did not pitch.
