Tigers OF Thames leaves game

DETROIT (TICKER) Detroit Tigers outfielder Marcus Thames left Monday’s game in the seventh inning against the Cleveland Indians with a left calf cramp and is considered day-to-day.

Thames laced a one-out single and advanced to second after Indians reliever Masa Kobayashi uncorked a wild pitch. Edgar Renteria followed with an infield single, and when Thames ran to third, he felt discomfort before being promptly replaced by pinch runner Matt Joyce.

The 31-year-old Thames was 2-for-3 with a solo homer before exiting.

Thames is hitting .244 with 22 homers and 47 RBI in 84 games this season.
