Rakuten Eagles sign Rasner, Childers

TOKYO (TICKER) —The Rakuten Eagles of the Japanese Pacific League on Sunday signed pitchers Darrell Rasner and Matt Childers.

Rasner, who went 5-10 with in 24 games with the New York Yankees last season, signed a contract worth $1.07 million. The righthander is 9-15 with a 5.00 ERA in four major league seasons.

Childers spent last season pitching for Class AAA Lehigh Valley of the International League, going 3-5 with 20 saves in 53 games. The righthander, whose deal is worth just under $540,000, is 0-0 with a 9.69 ERA in 11 career major league games.
