Bradley, Crede share AL honors

NEW YORK (TICKER) Texas Rangers right fielder Milton Bradley and Chicago White Sox third baseman Joe Crede were named co-American League Players of the Week on Monday.

Last week, Bradley batted .478 (11-for-23) with five home runs and 11 RBI while posting a 1.261 slugging percentage in seven games. The 29-year-old, who has 14 homers and 43 RBI for the season, raised his overall average to .478.

Crede hit .611 (11-for-18) with four homers and 12 RBI for the first place White Sox, who have won six in a row.

He blasted two home runs against the Minnesota Twins on Friday and Saturday, becoming the first Chicago player with consecutive two-homer games since Greg Norton in 1999.

Also nominated for the award were Boston Red Sox right fielder J.D. Drew, New York Yankees left fielder Johnny Damon and Los Angels Angels of Anaheim closer Francisco Rodriguez.
