Cubs place OF Pagan on disabled list, recall OF Pie

HOUSTON (TICKER) —The Chicago Cubs on Wednesday placed outfielder Angel Pagan on the 15-day disabled list with colitis.

Pagan is batting .264 with four homers and 21 RBI in 71 games for the Cubs this season.

In a corresponding move, the team recalled outfielder Felix Pie from Class AAA Iowa. This will be the 22-year-old’s third stint with the Cubs this season.

Pie is batting .216 (30-for-139)with two home runs, 18 RBI and 19 runs with the parent club. The lefthanded hitting Pie was batting .360 with nine homers and 42 RBI in 54 games with Iowa this season.
