Cubs sign RHP Fox
CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Chicago Cubs on Wednesday agreed to terms with righthanded reliever Chad Fox on a minor league contract.
If Fox makes the team as a non-roster invitee in spring training, it will mark his third stint with the Cubs.
The 38-year-old made three appearances with Chicago in 2008 before going on the disabled list with ulnar neuritis in his right elbow. He had been out of baseball since April 2005, when a right elbow strain ended his season with the Cubs.
Fox is 10-12 with six saves and a 3.60 ERA in 217 relief appearances with Atlanta (1997), Milwaukee, Boston, Florida and the Cubs.
