Cubs agree with IF Cedeno on one-year contract

CHICAGO (Ticker) - The Chicago Cubs on Friday agreed to terms with infielder Ronny Cedeno on a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed for the deal, which allowed the sides to avoid arbitration.

Cedeno, 25, saw action primarily at second base and shortstop among the five positions he played for the Cubs last season.

In 99 games, he batted .269 with two home runs and 28 RBI. In four seasons with Chicago, Cededo has a career .252 batting average with 13 homers and 88 RBI.
