Astros claim RHP Houston

HOUSTON (TICKER) —Ryan Houston could get to wear his name on the front and back of his jersey next season.

The Houston Astros on Wednesday claimed Houston off waivers from the Toronto Blue Jays.

If the righthander is to make an appearance in a Houston jersey, he will first have to crack the Astros’ 25-man roster.

Houston, 28, has not made his major league debut, spending nine years in Toronto’s minor league system. Last season, he had a 2-2 record with a 4.30 ERA and five saves for Class AAA Syracuse.
