Rockies manager Tracy collapses

ORLANDO – Colorado Rockies manager Jim Tracy collapsed early Tuesday morning at his hotel and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, according to team official Jay Alves.

Tracy, 55, was alert and responsive, Alves said, after the brief episode at the Swan and Dolphin Resort, where Major League Baseball is holding its annual winter meetings.

According to Alves, Tracy experienced dizziness while waiting for an elevator in the hotel.

The nature of Tracy’s ailment was unknown, Alves said.

“We’ll know more later,” he said.
