Helton thinks he’ll be OK after being hit by foul
PHOENIX (AP)—Colorado first baseman Todd Helton(notes) limped into the clubhouse after being hit with a wicked foul off the bat of teammate Carlos Gonzalez(notes) in the ninth inning of the Rockies’ 7-5 loss at Arizona on Friday night.
Helton was standing on the dugout steps when the ball hit him on the left shin. He wouldn’t guess whether he’ll play Saturday.
“I’ll be sore tomorrow,” Helton said. “I’ll just see what I feel like when I wake up. But I think I’m fine.”
