baltimore baseball fans dont have a clue with berken and gutherie in the rotation they may never win 70 games let alone go .500 if angelos would pull his head out of his ass and his wallet out of his pocket bergessen hernandez arrieta tillman and matusz would fit real nice with two top dollar quality starters unfortunately uncle pete has stated he wont give a pitcher a multiyear big dollar contract he feels pitching every 5th day is not that big a part of the game his words not mine so being a huge os fan as i am just get use to losing

Yeah, the O's batting average is fine, but only 5 teams in the AL have scored less runs. They don't knock the guys in who get on base, especially later in the game.

Clutch hitting and starting pitching are the big needs right now, but don't expect much until the latter part of next season after the young kids get some ML experience under their belts. Look what that has done for Adam Jones.

richardc you are wrong look at the stats only 3 teams in the majors have a higher batting average then baltimore. we are one really good pitcher away from contending. next years rotation berguson, berken, hernandez, guthrie, tillman bring on the youth.

Its the other way around. Our pitching has given up the second most runs in the AL though we are in middle of the pack for hitting.

    Go O's

The pitching is OK but could improve. However the Orioles are the worst hitting team in the majors. So how are you going to win with a team like this.

Not to bust on Lou or Nolan, but tonight Pie made a game changing hustle play that really impressed me, and it was the game changing moment in the game tonight. Not to mention the flash of power and poise he showed in the 9th inning rally against Tampa the other night. Pie has raised his average from the mid .100's to the .200's and is starting to show signs of being able to handle big league pitching. With the Orioles you are always worried about us holding on hope with hopeless players (can you say Daniel Cabrera?), but Pie has shown the last week with multiple hit games, speed and plays in th OF, and hustle on the bases that the experiment shouldn't be over. Lets keep our fingers crossed that it's not a fluke. Pie's offensive boost has also been a factor in the O's recent success. Playing the AL central a few times doesn't hurt either!!!! The O's would be a .500 or better team in that division too!

The call up was a numbers necessity. Now if only Hendrickson, Bass, Eaton, et. al are shown the door, and pitching call ups are made, maybe we'll see what this team might do....in 2011.
I would rather lose with the kids than with the 3 or 4 stiffs we have on the staff now.
If this team had 3 good/decent starters right now, the O's would be in the hunt for a wild card, say, at least until the end of July.
Geez..us, this is frustrating for all Oriole fans.
