Fired Indians manager Wedge starts final series
BOSTON (AP)—A day after he was fired, Cleveland manager Eric Wedge looked to the future and said he’d like to manage again.
“I really haven’t thought a great deal about it,” he said Thursday before the start of the four-game series at Fenway Park. “Right now it’s hard for me to think about it. Yesterday was a tough day, to say the least.”
Wedge was let go Wednesday by Cleveland before the Indians finished the home portion of their schedule but is being allowed to finish the season,
“It was unique,” he said. “I felt like it was important to do it in Cleveland so everyone could have proper access. I wanted to know before Boston.”

Shapiro consistently low- balls the Tribe every trade he makes, and needs to go.
But, unfortunately, until Larry "Jesse James" Dolan sells the team, nothing's going to change. He works the system to make money without having to pay to field a decent team. And when Shapiro trades off any talent we do have, he blames the fans for not paying good money to see his sh***y team! The fans in NE Ohio are some of the most loyal in the country, yet he has the balls to spit in our faces like that?! If you really want to make some money, spend the money for a contender! Remember Dick Jacobs?
It's been said before, but I really believe that instead of a salary cap in MLB, there should be a salary minimum to ensure that douchebag owners who have no business in the league don't continue to rip off their fans. Please Mr. Dolan, spend some money, build a contender that fans want to see, drive up the value of the team, and then SELL THEM TO SOMEONE WHO CARES ABOUT BASEBALL AND THE FANS IN CLEVELAND!
(As a Tribe fan for 33+ years, this sickens me. The Indians organization will not see another penny from me until Dolan changes his M.O. or sells the team.)

Sh*tpiro, you're simply an idiot that proves the "Peter Principle." You should work for the government.
Dolan, there is a special place in HELL for profiteers like you. Not just because you've proven how sad and desperate the fans of Cleveland are but, how nasty you are about rubbing their noses in it. As a Christian, I believe in "Judgement Day" and we all will have sins to atone for. I pity you!!!

If this was a good management staff, things like defense would be getting better; yet we just get worse in every apect of the game. And his constant lineup/ position changes not only scream of panic, they also allow absolutely no chance of the team getting any kind of comfort where they are playing.
And if Shapiro is dumb enough to put his own a$$ on the line by constantly saying it's not Wedge's fault, then he needs to go too. Go to another team and trade all their talent away every year. I'm starting to think that losing Huntington to the Pirates was a bigger loss than I realized. The team's talent decisions haven't been the same since he left. Seriously, we trade DeRosa away for a rookie reliever? (And he hits the first 2 batters he faces for the Tribe, the first in the head. Nice.)
Just watch as the Tribe dumps everyone worth anything to us again this year... Explain to me why every losing season has to be a rebuilding season?!!!! It's simple... because ownership is gonna get it's money, no matter what. It's already been said, Mr. Dolan, but you have to spend money to make money.
