Ex-ESPN worker says she never stalked Phillips

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP)—A former ESPN production assistant whose affair with broadcaster Steve Phillips led to their firings says she confronted his wife only so he would stop pursuing her.

Brooke Hundley told ABC’s “Good Morning America” on Thursday that she never stalked the baseball analyst. Both were fired in October after the affair became public.

Bristol, Conn.-based ESPN says its investigation found Hundley’s characterization of the events as inconsistent.

Phillips acknowledged his relationship with the 22-year-old Hundley, and the details were splashed across New York tabloids for days.

Telephone messages were left Thursday for Hundley and Phillips’ spokesman. Phillips’ wife, Marni, declined to comment.

    president clinton can bang a fat intern but he stays president and is admired by women nationwide..steve philips is a sports announcer and talker and he gets fired for doing the same thing..at least philip's affairs didnt jeopardize the safety of our country and cost our taxpayers money..maybe philips should run for the presidency in 2012 and he will then be revered

    I would say that if it was the first time, ok, it is her. But he had several events in New York where they (the Mets) paid off one woman and they also had at least one other affair we heard of.
