THE DOUBLE BY BALTIMORE'S RAFAEL PALMEIRO IN THE TOP OF THE FIFTH INNING WAS THE 3,000TH HIT OF HIS MAJOR LEAGUE CAREER. PALMEIRO BECOMES JUST THE FOURTH PLAYER TO ACCUMULATE 3,000 HITS AND OVER 500 HOME RUNS. HE JOINS HANK AARON, WILLIE MAYS AND EDDIE MURRAY AS THE ONLY PLAYERS TO ACCOMPLISH THIS FEAT.
