With the World Series win in the bag, New York's late night television shows wasted no time in appropriating some of the Yankees stars for a ratings boost like the one Fox received.
A couple of the clips from Thursday night are below and if you're a Yankees fan who can't get enough (or a non-Yankee fan who's already cringing) don't worry: This is only the start.

Here's a highlight reel of Derek Jeter(notes), Andy Pettitte(notes), Jorge Posada(notes) and Hideki Matsui(notes) stopping by Letterman on Thursday night. Extra points to Jeter for being the only guy cool enough to make fun of Dave's love life (besides Dave himself, of course) and also for the band's rendition of Blue Oyster Cult's Godzilla. For the full version, see parts 1, 2 and 3

Daily Show host Jon Stewart is a big Mets fan, but that didn't stop him from opening Thursday night's show by offering his heartfelt congratulations to the Yankees.
Joba Chamberlain(notes) hugging his dad may have been one of the best World Series moments, but Joba Chamberlain appearing on Jimmy Fallon's show is definitely one of the worst. On an awkward scale of 1 to Michael Scott, this one is a nine. The show's writers are aware they're expected to provide jokes for their guests to tell, aren't they?

- Calls Yankee fans classless.
- Uses terms like "SUX" and "Stanks" and "Bleep."
- Is a hypocrite.

Yankees WS win - no riots
Mets WS win - no riots
White Sox win - riots
Phillies WS win - riots
Detroit WS win - riots
Boston WS win - riots
Odd pattern, isn't it? "Classless" NY baseball fans NOT rioting after their teams win the World Series....
And all the Yankee fans here just cheering their team....
