The New York Mets open their season Friday night in Florida. One fan who will probably watch, but maybe through gritted teeth, is comedian Chris Rock.
Rock stopped by "The Late Show with David Letterman" on Thursday night to promote his upcoming Broadway show, and eventually the discussion turned to his favorite baseball team. Foremost on Rock's mind was the team's current financial situation.
I'm guessing that the Mets will stick with their "Dawn of a New Season" ad campaign, rather than "This year, second base is a manhole cover!" But we eagerly await a new Mets blog titled "My Team Has No Money, Dave!"
