You know what really chaps my hide? YouTube users who are arrogant enough not to allow their videos to be embedded. I'd say they're like modern day commies, except that commies would allow their videos to be shared for the greater good. Instead I will label them as selfish and rude.
My disappointment, though, will not prevent me from directing you toward the best laugh you'll have all week (seriously, click that link) — four members of the 1981 World Series champion Dodgers singing 'We Are The Champions" on the Andy Gibb and Marilyn McCoo-hosted Solid Gold. From left to right in the middle photos, that's Jerry Reuss, Jay Johnstone, Rick Monday and Steve Yeager, who seems to be getting his inner-Lumberg on with those fantastic glasses. And the hairspray? Oh, the hairspray.
This Phillies-Dodgers NLCS actually features some pretty good musical moments from the past. Enrico over at The 700 Level just unearthed the extremely danceable "Phillies Fever" tune from 1976 and we're also familiar with Reuss coaxing his L.A. teammates into doing The Baseball Boogie in 1986. Hopefully these current teams will up the ante and do a few productions of their own, though if Manny wants to recreate that Solid Gold appearance moment with a couple of teammates, I'd totally be down for that, too.
