Having been there just last month, I can report the offerings at the Progressive Field souvenir stands are pretty standard. T-shirts, jerseys and hats for the Cleveland Indians. Bobbleheads for Slider and Chief Wahoo. Baseballs and foam fingers. You know, the usual fare.
However, for a brief moment during Tuesday's fourth inning, the souvenir stand on the deck in left field contained a one-of-a-kind item for the low, low price of free-ninety-nine.
The piece in question? None other than the baseball from the first of Shelley Duncan's(notes) two home runs in a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.
Watch the ball make its surprise crash landing
Tribe fans quickly descended on the stand in looting fashion and a young man in a checkered shirt came away with Duncan's 10th homer of the season. Look for it on eBay soon, with this Big League Stew post offered as its proof of authenticity.
