Big League Stew - MLB

A commercial flight? After possibly spoiling Chicago's first shot at a Crosstown Series since 1906? No way. No how.

That's why White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen says he'll be needing the use of owner Jerry Reinsdorf's private plane if the White Sox don't make the postseason, simply because he wouldn't be able to look at anyone.

From the Chicago Tribune:

"I don't have the guts to look at the people's faces in O'Hare Airport or Midway after this season.

"Then I won't have to see anyone in the airport and feel embarrassed or disappointed. I can get to Miami, where nobody really knows the White Sox. I will be embarrassed and I will be disappointed about seeing the people in the airport, seeing their faces, because we let them down."

After losing five straight to come into today's game, can you blame him? However, Reinsdorf doesn't have to call the boys down at the hangar just yet. The White Sox are leading Cleveland 3-1 in the top of the fourth with a win guaranteeing a makeup game against Detroit on Monday.

In Minneapolis, the Twins lead the Royals in the third, 1-0.

Sox will never make the playoffs cause they always choke in big situations and oziie should be fired right with this horrible bullpen, the worst i've ever seen, you can't even count on one guy to get you outs.

Anyone know why the Sox get the home field advantage in the one game playoff with the Twins. The Twins were 10-8 agains the Sox and the two teams will be exactly even against their division if the Sox beat Detroit tomorrow.

because home field in a one-game playoff was literally determined by coin flips last week.

You do realize Ozzie has won a world series within the past five years, right? Ozzie doesn't put the bullpen together, that'd be Kenny Williams.

Ozzie is not the problem here. The horrible bullpen who started the year so strong is the problem. Even if they make the playoffs I dont see them going far. Their bullpen is suspect and each starter has been on 3 days rest for the past week. They would need their starters to go at least 7 2/3 and have Jenks go the rest of the way. Not gonna happen! I am a Die Hard Sox fan but I'm also a realist! Lets see what Freddy G has 2morrow. GO SOX!!

I don't know who to root for... the Twins play my favorite style of baseball(smallball) while the White Sox are always pull some kind of weird miracle.
A ChiSox/Cubs WS would be pretty insane and incredibly entertaining to watch, but I'm going to predict a Cubs/BoSox WS this year.
