After reading through all the stories from the Phillies' NLCS celebration on Thursday night, it seems the overriding theme was that the party was more contained than in 2008.
Business as usual. Bigger fish to fry. Bigger bottles to uncork. Etc., etc.
But that doesn't mean that some Phillies didn't cut loose. According to one clubhouse source (OK, it was Jeff Passan), pitcher Chan Ho Park(notes) was doing his best impression of Jonny Gomes, going wild with champagne and targeting teammates with ice buckets. Perfectly understandable, too, considering he's been in the big leagues for 15 seasons and is just now punching a ticket for his first World Series trip.
Park isn't the only Fall Classic virgin on the Phillies, either. Cliff Lee(notes) has never made the trip. Neither have Raul Ibanez(notes), Ben Francisco(notes) or Antonio Bastardo(notes). Paul Bako(notes) was on the field when Steve Bartman happened; six years later he's finally in.

a nine-year-old child getting sprayed in the face with alcohol by a stranger in a public place... shouldn't be allowed to happen.
sorry but this type of celebration needs to be eliminated.
also... how disgusting was it to see the Angels pour alcohol over Nick Adenhart's jersey after their ALDS win. the guy was killed by a drunk driver... gross.
