Big League Stew - MLB

What is it with Philadelphians and their penchant for mascots? Yesterday afternoon, Enrico of The 700 Level sent me this story about the Phillie Phanatic, which then caused me to compulsively spend $25 buying this bobblehead off eBay.

Now Meech checks in with maybe the funniest clip I've seen this season — Cincinnati's Mr. Redlegs getting decapitated on the warning track during yesterday's win over the Cubs.

(No chance I'm bidding over $46 on this bobblehead, though.)

UPDATE: The original video has been taken down from YouTube, but Joe Sports Fan steps in with the remix. If you want to see the raw footage, click here for the unedited clip.

BLS Bonus: Here's the play-by-play from everyone's favorite international superspy:

Austin Powers: Not the time to lose one's head.

Vanessa Kensington: No.

Austin Powers:  That's not the way to get ahead in life.

Vanessa Kensington:  No.

Austin Powers: It's a shame he wasn't more headstrong.

Vanessa Kensington:  Hmm.

Austin Powers:  He'll never be the head of a major corporation.

Vanessa Kensington:  Okay, that'll do.

Austin Powers: Okay.

Originally, I thought he was hiding his head for the children...not to ruin the persona thing. Then I realized he was actually injured. And that kind of made it funnier.

I agree with you matt & Diane B.This will rank up there along with the Phillie Phanatic. As for ltcplayer, no way. Quit being an obsessed packer hater. Bears will always be bears- they will always make the same mistakes.Besides, IT IS BASEBALL SEASON, NOT FOOTBALL SEASON. Do you even watch baseball?
