Big League Stew - MLB

Boston.com's Extra Bases just posted a fascinating press release that was sent out today:

"Mets Fans Cry Fowl. Chickens to be sent to Mets Owner Fred Wilpon Today at 2:15pm."

Syosset, NY — Randy Smith, a lifelong Mets Fan and an employee of Georgi Vodka is joining a few other fans today at 2:15 p.m. putting 5 chickens in a box to express his outrage of the Mets Firing Willie Randolph. They are part of the company's season ticket holders in which they are canceling for the season.

Not a bad idea to get some publicity and I'm sure at least one New York media outlet will take the bait and provide coverage. However, I've secured footage of what the scene is most likely going to look like.

I have to say New Yorkers are such tools. This is probably the fifth or sixth time a manager was unceremoniously canned and somehow people throw their arms into the air and martyr the victims and villainize ownership. I'd be more worried about my paycheck, unemployment or welfare check versus how a guy getting $4M is being treated.
