Big League Stew - MLB

Sad, but true: I never owned any Starting Lineup figures growing up. Fact was, I was too busy cobbling together quarters and dimes to buy every pack of Donruss, Fleer and Topps that I could. Then Upper Deck came along and ... well, that's for another post, isn't it?

Anyway, my ignorance toward baseball figurines showed during this Starting Lineup identification test that most of you will probably dominate. Just try to beat my 40 percent.

A big BLS head nod to SI's Hot Clicks for the tip.

    I got a lousy 50%.
I think 3rd graders could make better likenesses of those players.

"TOOOO BE! A WIIIIN-NER!" I did horribly on that quiz. But I must say that "Retired Ben & Jerry's Flavor or Band I Found On Myspace" quiz is spectacular...

Duk, I know it was probably sarcasm, but why put that 40% out here, come on, baseball is your job. Study up and take the quiz again.

I got an 8 out of 10. I got the Giants one wrong because I thought he was too skinny to be Bonds. Oh well.

(missed Bonds and Bichette) I would have guessed Bonds but since you only got a 40% I thought there'd have been tricks involved

I was going to ask how you got 40% when there's only 3 in the picture...hooray for reading comprehension.

Dynasty, why are you reading a baseball blog if you dont like baseball. You must be one of those people who have to comment on everything no matter if they know what they are talking about or not.
This was susposed to be fun, nestalgic, and a waste of time time spring training comes. If you have the time to waste on comments like that that you take life too seriously my friend.
BTW, I know who my government officials are and I know my baseball players, but like I said in a couple previous blogs, baseball and political debates dont go together.

Come on, it is the off season. Between the postseason and the free agent season, not a lot of stories out there right now. I know I can only take so much C.C. and Manny storiesupdates before I want to puke. Lay off the bloggers for trying to be creative and trying something different than the same editorials and update pieces.
I thought this story was good to take a break at work and goof off and try it. I think we all remember these figures, and honestly I laugh that I have kept mine so long. These are pretty much worless oblects that we couldnt get enough of as kids.
I thought this story was a good reminder of how our childhood and baseball were so closely linked for most people.
