Talk as much as a baseball broadcaster does each season and you're bound to confuse a few names here and there. It happens and it's understandable. It's part of the job.
That doesn't mean, however, that we can't crack a smile at the golden voice of San Diego Padres announcer Dick Enberg welcoming retired closer Trevor Hoffman(notes) to the booth — and saying the name of a seven-time Academy Award nominee for Best Actor instead. (He apologized for the mixup later in the broadcast.)
