I just heard a rumor that the Reds are bringing back Norm Charlton to work the 8th inning.

I like the rumors of Cole Hamels going to the Nats For Ryan Zimmerman,That is the best rumor going around.and the Phillies should throw in another player to get that deal done. Then go after Halladay.Cole is a head job.

Nice picture Cole. You need some of Utley's axel grease for your hair. A new arm might help as well.

Neo should follow the white rabbit right out of town. Philly fans will not forgive him for his comments or his pitching.

Hamels will be fine next season. The guy just had a bad year. I'd rather keep him around another season and have him show us why he was the 2008 MVP and then trade him if the right players are out there so we'd get more for him, but trading him at this point- no way. Besides, he needs to show us he didn't quit on the team like his comments made it sound. And he needs to grow up a little too. Showing annoyance with your teammates when they flub is something you see in little league. Everybody's human, and he should be the LAST person to be complaining about screw ups: Wtf not throwing a curveball until the fifth inning and then repeatedly getting hammered because you suddenly want to throw it to every batter. He cost us that game against the Yankees because he couldn't stop throwing that pitch when it was obvious they were pounding away on it. Whatever. We'll get 'em next year cuz I don't see anyone in the NL who can knock us down. Go Phillies!

Cole had a chance to make up for a lousy regular season in the playoffs but blew it. Get out of town. I'll take Halladay!!

Hamels will be fine next year, he had the same post WS partying like Rollins and Howard had the 2 years before. They need to get some bullpen help especially since they won't be bringing back Myers.

Everyone has a bad year give Cole Hamels a break -- it happens to the best of players. I was thrilled to see him play in WS 2008 -- he was great then he could come back and play ball nest year. He is young he could bounce back . And as for Cliff Lee ~the phillies have a gem. Go Phillies

Philly fans that hate on Hamels are probably the same [profane]s that boo Schmidt. I'm not comp[asring Schmidt to Hamels but it just the same old Philly whining. Shut up and be thankful you're not in kansas City you ungrateful cretins.

I would remind all of you that Cliff Lee was so bad a few seasons ago he ended up in the minors. Pitchers can have bad seasons then bounce back, it happened to Lidge a few seasons a go to. Hammels is 25 and when mentally synched dominate. As for Halladay a one year rental for nearly all the farm prospects just to see him jump ship when the Yankees throw 160 million his way too is nuts. One year no, if it were 2-3 maybe but NOT ONE.

That one blog featuring Cole with the dog in the fanny-pack should have sealed his fate long ago with Philly fans. What a [profane] For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, just google "Cole Hamels dog". Send this fairy to fenway!

The Dodgers and Phillies ought to swap Billingsley and Hamels. Both guys have great potential, but have worn out their welcome with their respective teams. Staying in the same place will just be caustic to both guys' careers.

I agree with Bojangles that Hamels should take his unprofessional approach to the game to LA where he and his reality TV show spouse can hang out at Malibusi and be the stars they think they are now. But not for Billingsley.
