Meet the Mariners' newest rookie, goes by the name of Baskin Robbins.
Wait, that's actually first-year first baseman Mike Carp(notes), who hit his first big league home run on Wednesday night and received an ice cream pie to the face for his effort. (I knew there had to be a better alternative to the usual faceful of the boring Barbasol.)
Upon entering the clubhouse, Ken Griffey Jr. threw Carp in a laundry cart, steered him into the showers and helped teammates pour beer on him.
"I loved it," Carp confessed.
We bet Carp did love it — snicker — though the ice cream salve looks absolutely freezing.
So have at it, amateur Internet copy editors of the world. How should this caption read?
Here are winners from Tuesday's C-a-C featuring a D'back ditching:
2nd — Babel. "Did you know they let you drink beer over here? Later!"
3rd — Operaz 3999. "I just checked, Steve Bartman is nowhere in this park, we're safe, I'm going back on the field."
HM — Mike L. "Everyone knew Reynolds had a body double that came in to play defense. Unfortunately he'd take some at-bats as well."
