Arrrrrrr, mateys! It isn't common practice for baseball blogs not named The 'Burgh Blues or Where Have You Gone, Andy Van Slyke? to talk about the Pirates, but we're changing that today here on the Stewcast.
In this week's edition:
• Nick Friedell and I welcome Pirates second baseman and 2006 NL batting champion Freddy Sanchez to the Stewcast. We talk about everything from the upcoming Pirates' season to what might have happened had he not been traded by Boston to the best breakfast burrito place to visit on the annual "Freddy Sanchez Day" thrown by his hometown city of Burbank.
• Nick canvasses a Florida spring training game to see if fans can pick out the name of a Pirates from a lineup of character names from 90210 and Saved By The Bell.
• I go on another extended rant about the AP poll that featured nothing but people complaining about baseball and then talk about my upcoming and perhaps ill-advised plans to bring my dog to the White Sox's Dog Day.
• We then finish by going completely non-sequitur to talk about Nick's near-mishap in the not-so-friendly skies over the weekend and then living to take a picture with U2's Bono during Tiger's run at Bay Hill the following day.
