Cubs outfielder Reed Johnson (right) came to the annual Cubs Convention this past weekend in full disguise. Or perhaps he was just paying a bearded tribute to a famous mixed martial artist.
Johnson said his overflowing beard grew out of "laziness," not as tribute to the House of David, the barnstorming Israelite baseball team from the early 20th century. He said his wife repeatedly asks him the same question — "You think you look GOOD?" Meanwhile, teammate Ryan Dempster said Johnson "looks like the white Kimbo Slice."
But with subzero temperatures in Chicago, maybe Johnson has the last laugh.
"I've got the extra layer for the cold," said Johnson, who is bald.
