Is it just me or does Big League Stew feel overdue for a knock-'em-out, drag-'em-out photoshop contest? After the success of Puck Daddy's "Gloating Bruins Fan" last season, I've wanted to see how the computer creativity of our loyal Stewies matches up. Finally, our time has come.
Above, you will find a picture of Melky Cabrera(notes) giving either the Hook 'Em Horns sign or the devil's horn salute during a recent Atlanta Braves game. Your mission — should you choose to accept it — is to cut Cabrera out of the existing image and place him into the situation of your choice. All entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, technical merit and how much iced tea squirts through my nose and onto my computer monitor when I open your email.
Now please note that you won't be doing this for nothing, because we have prizes! Not only will noted artist Chris Speakman be serving as a judge in this contest, he has also volunteered to give away one print of his fine "Sports Propaganda" work (a fantastic example involving Stew favorite Tim Lincecum(notes) can be seen below) to each of the top-three finishers.
Please send all entries (only one per person please) to email@example.com. The deadline for this contest will be Tuesday, Aug. 10 at 9 a.m. CT and we'll announce the winners with a post on Wednesday, Aug. 11. Good luck, and let the photoshopping begin!
