Kopech is the pitcher who came to the White Sox from the Boston Red Sox in the Chris Sale trade. The radar gun actually says Kopech’s pitch hit 110 mph. That’s insanely fast, faster than Aroldis Chapman, and four miles faster than anyone at any position threw any baseball in the entire 2016 season.
The Braves have trained at Walt Disney World for several years. The lease is up, however, and they’ve been on the hunt for a new facility for some time. Disney is just too geographically remote from most of the Grapefruit League facilities so they’ve looked on both the Atlantic and Gulf coasts for some time. Edinson Volquez’s brother was murdered in the Dominican Republic on Monday. For the second time in 15 months, Miami Marlins pitcher Edinson Volquez has tragically lost a family member. Brandy Volquez, the pitcher’s 25-year-old brother, was stabbed to death Monday, according to reports out of the Dominican Republic.
