Scouting Report on Chris Jones

On the Hoof: A very lean, long-limbed body structure. Is built a lot like fellow Rivals100 prospect Chris Dunkley, but Jones is a little taller.
Needs Improvement: Will need to add some size and strength to combat man coverage at the next level. This added size can also help with shielding defenders off the ball and with durability.
Most Impressive: Has excellent speed, catches the ball away from his body and can leap out of the building. Jones is a very smooth runner with the ball in his hands and he can make people miss.
Conclusion: Has the size of an inside receiver but the speed to become a serious vertical threat. Don't be surprised if he gets a shot at kickoff returns. If Jones proves he can run sharp, crisp routes, he will most likely play as a freshman. Expect him to score a lot of touchdowns in his college career.

Spring position rankings - Big shoes to fill at WR05/09/2010 Orangebloods.com

Jordan Shipley will go down as one of the best, if not the best, receivers in Texas history. So losing him to the NFL is a massive loss for the UT receiving corps. Who will step up to fill the void? Marquise Goodwin has a chance to turn into a star after a very good true freshman campaign in '09, but what about the rest? We break down the entire receiver position as we continue our post-spring position rankings.
