Scouting Report on Marcus Johnson

by Jerry Meyer - 08/29/2004
Johnson is a very good athlete who excels at filling the lanes on the break and finishing. A hard working defensive player, Johnson has the length and athletic ability to be a very good defender. Not extremely skilled right now, Johnson’s skill level should continue to improve, and he does have a chance to be a solid three point shooter. He has a good upside.

Jerry Meyer serves as a national scout and recruiting analyst for He played at Lipscomb University where be became college basketball's all-time career assist leader. Meyer earned Mr. Basketball honors in the state of Tennessee as a high school junior and senior. He has served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt and also co-authored the book, "Basketball Skills and Drills."
