Nerlens Noel left Kentucky's game against Florida with a knee injury after crashing into the basket support stand late in the second half.
Noel's status is undetermined, but he left Florida's arena in a wheelchair and was taken to a local hospital for X-rays. He will fly back with the team, according to a UK spokesman. No further details were known as of 10:30 p.m.
"I hope and pray that he's OK," coach John Calipari said after the game, according to Rivals.com's Brett Dawson. "I’m physically sick right now for him. What I'm hoping for is it's not the extreme. I'm hoping it's just a twist."
Noel was injured on a play in which he chased down Florida's Mike Rosario on a fast break. Noel blocked his layup but crashed into the post behind the basket and fell to the floor.
Noel was clearly heard screaming on the ground following the play.
"His leg was wobbly, knee looked dislocated," Florida's Patric Young said, according to Jason Lieser. "It was gruesome. I don't want to think about it."
Kentucky's entire lineup helped him all the way off the floor as Noel couldn't walk on his own power.
"We’re not thinking about playing without Nerlens right now," Julius Mays said, according to Brett Dawson. "We’re just hoping for the best."
