Landon Young, a rising sophomore offensive lineman who committed to Kentucky today, is about 38 months away from playing his first game as a Wildcat (assuming he ends up coming to UK).

That's a long way out -- not as long as that seventh-grader would be if he committed, but still a long way out -- and it's much further away than any recruit has ever committed to UK in the Rivals era.

Here's a year-by-year list of who the first commitment(s) was in each class and when they committed. The previous earliest commitment? Darrian Miller, who was about 20 months away from suiting up when he committed in December of his junior year.

-- Class of 2013: Jacob Hyde, committed March 2012.

-- Class of 2012: Thomas Chapman and Josh Harris, committed February 2011.

-- Class of 2011: Darrian Miller, committed December 2009.

-- Class of 2010: Justin Henderson, committed April 2009.

-- Class of 2009: Larry Warford, March 2008.

-- Class of 2008: Gene McCaskill, June 2007.

-- Class of 2007: Billy Joe Murphy, July 2006.

-- Class of 2006: Ashton Cobb, July 2005.

-- Class of 2005: Kenny Ray Turner, May 2004.

-- Class of 2004: Tony Dixon and Aaron Miller, July 2003.

Note: Classes of 2003 and 2002 do not have individual commitment dates listed.
