Kentucky released a highlight video of its second fall scrimmage -- one that the offense won pretty handily, according to coaches and players talking to the media afterward -- and, while certainly not showing a complete depiction of the action, did reveal some specific plays and players that stood out.
-- A Jalen Whitlow touchdown pass to Daryl Collins -- and, later, a near interception in the red zone.
-- Maxwell Smith touchdown passes to Steven Borden (who also had pair of TD receptions in the first fall scrimmage) and Jeff Badet.
-- Javess Blue is shown making a tough grab over the middle that Brown later said got a drive started.
(Stoops, after the scrimmage, told the media that he didn't remember any receiver among the top six dropping any balls.)
-- Jonathan George is shown making multiple big, powerful runs. In the video, Brown said he made "seven or eight great plays."
-- Sounds like the red zone was a weak area. Brown told his team after the scrimmage they missed three signals and had three penalties when inside the 20 that led to field goals instead of potential touchdowns. Brown heavily emphasizes red-zone success in his offense; it's why his teams have consistently ranked among NCAA leaders.
