Kentucky Blog - College

Kentucky and UCLA are two of the most -- if not THE most -- storied programs in college basketball history.

Eleven championships. Eight championships.

Could they be meeting in a game soon? John Calipari seemed to allude to the possibility in a tweet on Thursday.

""Let's welcome [UCLA coach Steve Alford] to Twitter," Calipari tweeted. "We are planning big things between our programs."

My guess would be a meeting at a neutral site -- as has become somewhat customary under Calipari.

Alford, in his first year at UCLA, hired a former Calipari assistant at UMass and Memphis to join his staff.

Kentucky is 6-4 all-time against UCLA, with the last meeting (a five-point UCLA win) coming in November 2006.
