Billy Gillispie will watch two teams he formerly coached as a spectator Saturday.
He accepted an invitation from A&M coach Billy Kennedy to attend their home game against Kentucky, according to the Dallas Morning News.
“Actually, I’m playing golf [in College Station] on Friday,” Gillispie told the newspaper. “I said, ‘Who are y’all playing Saturday?’ They said, ‘Kentucky,’ and so I said, ‘I think I’ll go.’ But it’s no big deal.”
After Saturday's game, Gillispie said he will be heading to Mexico for a fundraiser fish tournament.
Gillispie coached at A&M for three seasons, compiling a 70-26 record while there, and at Kentucky for two seasons, compiling a 40-27 record while there.
