Astoundingly, Daniel Walcott attempted to play in the third period of the Subway Super Series. Russia's Eduard Gimatov was not so fortunate.

During the second period of what escalated into a rough-and-tumble second game between Team QMJHL and Team Russia, Gimatov got the worst of a knee-on-knee collision with Walcott, who's having a surprisingly strong season for the league-leading Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

The 19-year-old Gimatov's leg bent in a way it was not designed to, while Walcott did a complete somersault and sailed a good 10-12 feet before landing. He came out for the warmup in the third period, but retired from the contest.

Gimatov, who played for Yekaterinburg Automobilist of the KHL last season, did not return to the game.
