A Southern California hockey mom has been accused of doing the unthinkable, allegedly seducing two different members of her son's youth hockey team who were below the age of 16.
According to the Orange County Register, 44-year-old Kathia Davis was arrested on suspicion of having sex with a minor under 16 and committing lewd acts with a minor under 14. She was released shortly after her arrest by posting $25,000 bail.
The allegations against Davis came to surface after the primary teen involved admitted to his own mother he had been engaging in sex with his teammate's mother. According to Orange County Sheriff spokesperson Jim Amormino, the sexual relationship between the player and mother lasted for approximately 18 months.
Both of Davis' alleged victims competed for the Beach City Lightning, a hockey team which also included one of her sons as a member.
"We received complaints that she was throwing parties for members of the hockey team and other friends of her son and providing them with alcohol," Amormino told the Register.
Additionally, the divorced mother of three is also alleged to have carried out a second relationship with a former hockey player who is no longer a minor. The Orange County Sheriffs department believes that relationship took place as many as six years ago, though no further details were provided to the press.
Meanwhile, the president of the Beach City Lightning Hockey Association insisted that neither victim was still a member of the club, and that no other illicit acts would be allowed to take place involving its members, a reassuring comment though one that does not necessarily help the victims who have already been affected by acts which, if true, violate the very trusting nature and security of youth sports in general.
