Considering the fact that John Jones and his merry band of Olentangy Orange High School trick-shot artists are creative and have a pretty light load of burdens (they are high schoolers, after all), it was only a matter of time before they connected on another miraculous golf club basketball shot. Evidently that period of time was roughly three weeks.
As you can see in the clip above, Jones -- most famous as the protagonist in Basketball-Golf Trick Shot -- took this cut from the top of a hill a little more than 100 feet from a hoop he and his cohorts set up in the Olentangy Orange High parking lot. According to an email from Jones, he used a 7-iron (he used an 8-iron for his first golf trick shot) and, notably, took this shot without the use of a tee. So, Devil Ball Golf, this time the points do count!
If you like what you see there, check out the video over on YouTube, where you can see all of the Jones gang's trick-shot majesty. They've got a handful of impressive trick compilation videos and a remarkable game of P-I-G (i.e., a shorter version of H-O-R-S-E). Clearly, Jones has the world's most patient neighbors ... or a really good window-breaking insurance policy.
No word yet on what the Olentangy Orange crew has planned next, but we're lobbying for the use of other stick-like apparatus. Maybe a hockey shot (Puck Daddy would probably approve)? A lacrosse shot?
Hear that, kids? The gauntlet has been thrown. Nail a basketball shot using a hockey or lacrosse stick and we'll be really impressed. Just please don't hurt yourself trying.
