Villegas was unable to defend his title with partner Bubba Watson in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic last week because the rain-delayed U.S. Open ran over into the first day of the tournament hosted by Brad Faxon and Billy Andrade. The only Colombian ever to be a member of the PGA Tour is taking two weeks off before returning next week for the Barclays Scottish Open, one week ahead of competing in his second British Open at Turnberry. Villegas is looking for a new caddie -- his man, Gary Matthews, left for part-time work with Sergio Garcia (who employs two caddies) because he wanted to spend more time with his family. Spider-Man had veteran Joe LaCava on the bag at Bethpage Black because his boss, Fred Couples, did not qualify for the national championship. Villegas had his brother Manny, who is trying to make it on the Nationwide Tour, carrying his clubs in the Memorial Tournament but wants to find a permanent looper as soon as possible. It might only be coincidence, but he has not finished in the top 30 since Matthews was last on his bag for a tie for 14th in the Players Championship. Finding a new, permanent caddie should not be a problem because Villegas said he has received "a lot of phone calls" from guys who want to tote his bag.
