So as you may know, retired-for-the-moment LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam is expecting a child with husband Mike McGee. Wonderful story, and we're very happy for her, though it's got to be hell on her backswing.

However, here's where it gets interesting. Annika hasn't yet picked a name for her kid, and she's looking to you, dear Internet reader, for help. She's offered up a host of choices in an Internet poll:

• Other

"Other"? Is that some kind of Swedish -- oh, wait, "other" as in write-in! Oh, my, that's dangerous, Annika.

Well, I've got to say, those are some lovely and very un-celebrity-like names. Not a Rumer or Scout or Apple or Brooklyn in the bunch. Very disappointing, if you ask me. Why not a good goofy golf-themed name, like "Birdie" or "Ace" or "Fringe"?

Now, Annika seems like she's enjoying this poll -- she's actually responding to comments herself -- so I'm not going to play hack morning-zoo DJ and suggest we commandeer the poll (even though we could -- there are, at present, only 580 total votes). Consider it my baby shower gift to the happy couple! But I recommend you go over there and check out the poll yourself, and hey, if the mood strikes you to write in "Fringe," go for it.
