All too often, the Champions Tour is an afterthought, the tournament equivalent of a victory lap for golfers past their prime but not yet ready to stick the clubs in the closet once and for all. Every so often, though, you remember how much fun these guys are, and how good it is to see them in action again. John Cook, onetime Devil Ball podcast guest and all-around good cat, took the Schwab Cup Championship despite concerns about his friend and Ohio State teammate Joey Sindelar, hospitalized on Saturday with a pulmonary embolism. Here's how it went down:

In related news, Loren Roberts hung on to win the $1 million annuity for taking the entire Schwab Cup, his second such victory in the last three years. He's making the Schwab Cup his playground, or something like that, and stands to challenge for the title for quite some time.
