Devil Ball Golf - Golf

Playtime's over. The Man is coming back.

Tiger Woods held his first formal press conference in half a year on Wednesday at the Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. And his brief appearance, discussing everything from his knee (better than expected) to his return (imminent but not scheduled) to his caddy debacle (enough, please), cemented the truth, once and for all: like it or not, there's nobody who touches him, in golf or any other sport. As Yahoo! Golf Editor Michael Arkush put it in his recap column:

So it is in this sport, now more than ever, even more than was the case PT: Pre-Torrey. There is Tiger Woods and there is everyone else, and as long as everyone else makes the putts and collects the prizes, the PGA Tour will generate as much buzz as Fred Thompson did in the primaries.

Yes, we're big fans of Phil, Sergio, and AK. Yes, we want to see Padraig Harrington go at Tiger, and we want to see how Camilo Villegas steps up. But golf isn't the same game without Tiger. Love him or hate him, you can't deny the sport revolves around him.

Everyone's had six months to get ready. Time's almost up.

I myself cannot wait for Tiger's return. Haven't watched one single round since the U.S. Open. Without him, the tour is as boring as before Tiger came along.

I don,t think Steve should do anything else. If you don,t mean something then you should never say it in the first place. At the U.S. open in San Diego this past June I was at the 12th tee standing next to a fan who was a real fan of Tiger's and after Phil Michelson had teed off this fan yelled "go Tiger" , (Bones), Phil's caddy charged over towards the fan in an attempt to bully by holding Phil's driver in his hand. I did not see or hear Phil scold his caddy for the threat. I say Phil should have fired him on the spot, Yet he starts to talk about how much class his caddy has. Steve was right about the prick.

Williams does not have to say a damn thing to phil.
I don't know why phil was #2 in the world for so long, let alone being in the top 10

Steve is a bug on Phil's front bumper. I bet Phil laughed this one off! This should be Phil's statement to the press and steve-o " anytime you want to compare pay checks, endorsement deals and a golf game call me!!" I always believe in good and bad karma. Steve will get his.....

Oh, please. There's no hurry for Tiggy to return to the course anytime pretty soon. Even though he'll play the Masters, I'm not convinced that his leg will hold up after a few surgeries. Otherwise, that might chronically threaten his career if he pushes too hard unless he changes his swinging patterns. Rest well, man.
