Every day, we bring you the best in news and opinion from around the world of golf. Get up to date on your way to the first tee.
• This week, Michelle Wie returns to the LPGA State Farm Classic, the site of her infamous DQ. How will she do? We must know! We must know now! [About.com]
• The Masters will donate more than $3 million in 2009. That kind of money buys you a whole lot of we-don't-care-what-you-think. [AP via Yahoo! Sports]
• President Obama will serve as the honorary chair of the Presidents' Cup this fall, and Ron Sirak believes that's an important sign to show that golf has his support. [Golf Digest]
• What the hell is Matt Bettencourt using for his putter grips, tree trunks? [Dogs That Chase Cars]
• McNulty beats Funk at Principal Charity Classic on the Champions Tour. Good to see Jimmy McNulty putting his life back together after all that Stringer Bell/Avon Barksdale business. Oh, wait, different McNulty? Mark McNulty? Never mind. Congrats to him, tho. [PGA.com]

Hyped up beyond belief and universally popular, but once the novelty wore off, you realized the games weren't that good.

things have to line up just right to get to the winners circle--if Michelle just sticks to what got her here in the first place--she WILL win at some point and then all you detractors will have to jump on the next up and coming young star and berate her with all your so-called wisdom

Like Danica Patrick?
I do not argue that Wii is 10 times the golfer I am. But the hype machine that surrounds her is what we are mocking. She brings it on herself when she enters PGA tournaments before she's even won on the LPGA.
People are saying 'wake me up when she wins something' because we are tired of the hype and the press that still shoves her in our face every day.
