Devil Ball Golf - Golf

We're at the end of the 2009 season, and we're taking a look back at how the top 20 on the money list fared. Next up: Kenny Perry.

Coming into 2009: Even though he was in sight of 50, Perry was rounding into one of the top golfers in the game. He put together an outstanding 2008 that resulted in a berth on the 2008 Ryder Cup squad. And everyone had laughed when he said he wanted to hit 20 wins on the PGA Tour -- coming into 2009, he had 12 -- but nobody's laughing now.

High-water mark: Perry got out of the gate in a hurry, winning the FBR Open on Super Bowl Sunday in Arizona, even though most of the population was focused on the Cardinals' imminent appearance in the big game. He followed that with a win in the Travelers Championship. In between those two, though ...

The low point: Augusta. Need we say more? With just two holes remaining and a two-stroke lead, Perry appeared to have it all in hand. And then it all went straight to hell. Four holes later, he'd lost a two-hole playoff to Angel Cabrera, his dreams of a green jacket dashed.

Outlook for 2010: Strong as always. If anybody could rebound from the devastating loss at Augusta, it's Perry, who seems to have a preternatural ability to remain positive on the golf course. He'll turn 50 this year, but he doesn't appear to be slowing down in the slightest.
