As the Wells Fargo tees off, here's one last tidbit from the week's pre-tourney festivities. Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia, Martin Kaymer and Brendan de Jonge, along with assorted caddies and managers, played soccer with a local team and, well, they got waxed 7-4.
"It was 4-1 at halftime," McIlroy said. "We got it back to 4-all halfway through the second half and then they turned it on at the end and beat us. But it was great fun. Luckily no injuries."
Kaymer, McIlroy and Garcia all scored goals, as did Michael Doren, Camilo Villegas' caddie. And they're all apparently willing to take on locals, so if you've got some skill at kickyball, give 'em a ring.
