There's never not a good time for a John Daly story, and his fourth (!) ex-wife Sherrie has uncorked a whole passel'a tales in her brand-new book, "Teed Off: My Life As A Player's Wife On The PGA Tour." Here, check out a little video bit on the book, courtesy of Golf Digest:
Some of the tales the former Ms. Daly shared:
• Daly allegedly took a $750,000 check he received after losing to Tiger Woods at the 2005 WGC-American Express Championship and immediately went to Vegas, blowing $1.65 million in less than five hours.
• The 2007 incident where Sherrie allegedly attacked Daly with a knife? Never happened, she says. He made it all up.
• He allegedly expressed his displeasure with the color of paint on the walls of their house by peeing on it. Not metaphorically, literally.
As Golf Digest points out, Sherrie Daly has had troubles of her own, serving five months in prison in 2005 on federal charges of running a drug and gambling ring. More recently, she had $80,000 in jewelry stolen from her house by what must have been Memphis' dumbest criminal, a guy who bragged about the crime and tried to give away some of the jewelry to ladies who recognized it.
So, yeah. More Daly. Because every day needs a little dose of crazy.
