Devil Ball Golf - Golf

There's a growing move in the world of golf PR stunts to have famous players smack balls Driving golf balls off a Chicago skyscraper: always awesomeoff skyscrapers, and we can say without equivocation that we're all in favor of this, if only for the reason that it could lead to a catastrophically funny shank somewhere down the line. (We do not recommend you hit golf balls off a skyscraper. We do not recommend you go up on top of skyscrapers. Matter of fact, you probably shouldn't hit golf balls at all.)

Anyway, the story here is that the two 2012 Ryder Cup captains, Davis Love III and Jose Maria Olazabal, teed off from atop the Trump International Hotel & Tower's 16th Floor Terrace on Monday to commemorate the one-year-away mark for the Ryder Cup matches to be held in Medinah, Ill. Each guy got three chances at the golf green, which was 220 yards away (laterally, at least) and modeled on Medinah's 17th hole (which, presumably, will not be on a barge for the actual Ryder Cup).

Though there's plenty to love about bashing golf balls in the middle of a city, this stunt also had its charitable elements, with the PGA of America and the Ryder Cup Magnificent Moments campaign joining to donate $100,000 to the Illinois PGA Foundation and local Ronald McDonald House charities.

Check the video to see how close DL3 came to acing the hole, but alas ended up in the Chicago River. Guess he'll have to use the Wacker Drive drop zone.
