On the Hoof: Sims has wide shoulders, long arms and is a bit soft around the midsection. His legs are well developed, and he actually looks more like an inside linebacker on the hoof than a quarterback.
Needs Improvement: Reshape some of his bad body weight, which should help with foot quickness and conditioning. He also should work on getting better depth on his drops, which should help timing and create bigger passing lanes.
Most Impressive: Has very good arm strength and accuracy on his passes. Sims also knows when to use touch on shorter passes and fades.
Conclusion: Sims has the game experience and composure to put a little heat on the quarterbacks already on the roster. The best thing for him would be to redshirt while he learns the complexity and speed of the college game. In his second year, he should be pressing for playing time over the upperclassmen.
